Hello beautiful Lubchanskyheads…I kind of “forgot” to do this newsletter the last few months, because, frankly! I haven’t had much going on. I’m plugging along on some pitches for new things that I can’t share yet. And besides that, honestly, I’m still sort of mentally and physically exhausted from making the last book. Graphic novels take a ton out of you. But I can feel a period of productivity coming on. But we’ve got a lot of irons in the fire here at Lubchansky HQ….hopefully more soon on that front? Hopefully I will also have a cover reveal/pre-order announcement for the book soon as well!
Convention time!
Convention season is BACK baby! Here’s where I’ll be:
9/14 & 9/15: SPX, DC
9/21: Picto Beach Bazaar, NYC
10/12: PCX, Philly (info TBA on this one)
10/26: SLICE, St. Louis
Live Show Alert!
Me, Tuck Woodstock, and Calvin Kasulke are attempting a “comedy show” this month, I’ll be reading some brand-new comics and we’ll all be doing some fun games! Gender Reveal Presents…Is This Anything? is 9/22 at Union Hall in Brooklyn and still has just a couple tix left!
Podcast Alert
One thing I DID do this summer was start a podcast! Me and Clayton Ashley are sifting through the detritus of America’s post-9/11 cultural illness while we watch episodes of Trek’s most maligned and forgotten show: Enterprise. Right now we’re doing new episodes every two weeks! You can subscribe in all the usual places.
New Kittens Corner
This month’s Corner Corner is simply: Look at these little guys* we got! They are called Frog Greeb-Streebling Mungojerrie Lubchansky-Saxena (aka “Frog,” the tabby) and Peach Streeb-Greebling Rumpleteazer Saxena-Lubchansky (aka “Peach,” the calico) after a very stupid Peter Cook and Dudley Moore sketch and also we saw CATS: The Jellicle Ball the other week.
Anyway, wow! It simply is so nice to have a couple of little guys running around your house. Look at them. Look at them! This has taken up most of my physical and mental energy lately.
