An insane month where I did too much stuff and there is still stuff to go!! I’ve been doing a lot of conventions and art markets and appearances and such, and I have to just say: thank you to every single person that has bought a book, or checked it out of their library, and told me something it meant to them. The reaction so far has been better than my wildest dreams and it’s been so rewarding. I’m not sure how to put it into words, frankly! But I really do appreciate every person that’s said something – it is a great kindness, and I feel warm and wonderful each time.

TONIGHT in BROOKLYN I will be reading at R. Sikoryak’s great and long-running CAROUSEL reading series. It’s part of the Brooklyn Book Festival! That’s cool.
TOMORROW, I will be heading up to The Big Bean, that’s right: Boston. On Friday night, I’ll be doing a little ~in conversation~ with Joel Christian Gill about my career and my book for BU’s lecture series at the school of visual art. It’s part of MICE, which I then will be at all weekend! I’ll be at table 68B with pins, patches, and books. There’s also a little tribute to the Nib panel on Sunday I’ll be participating in with my colleagues Shay Mirk and Whit Taylor. Very exciting!
Mattie’s Science Fiction From 1987 Corner
This months’ Corner Corner is about what I’ve been watching lately. Hey do you know what’s pretty good? Star Trek: The Next Generation. Somehow, despite watching a ton of it when it was on TV as a kid, and seeing most of the movies (First Contact goes preposterously hard imo), I had never sat down and watched all of TNG. Good shit! Definitely I went from “man this crap sucks ass, what gives” to “I would give an organ to see more episodes that have multiple Brent Spiners in them.” I believe this is due to the many episodes featuring multiple Brent Spiners! Anywho: TNG! We love it. My psychopathic plan is to watch all the Treks while I finish this book. Has unemployment driven me insane? Who* is to say!

Some BOYS WEEKEND talk in BookRiot.
TNG is so good and wonderful. The best part is that when you finish it, DS9 blows it out of the water and is also so good. I’m very excited for you!
