Hello pals! This was kind of a slow month! I was very jetlagged for the first week or two, and then spent a lot of time spinning my wheels on some unfinished projects. Not much to show for it! But that’s okay - the process is the process, you know? Hopefully I have more to show for myself in July. I finished the edits on my next book and drew the cover, so there’s that! Hopefully you can see it soon.
A thing I’ve been devoting a lot of time and energy to this month is rehearsals - My band, FAITH/VOID is playing an album release show this week. So that’s neat! If you’re in NYC, it’s gonna be a fun one. If you’re NOT in NYC, well, you can stream the new album WEIRD CHILLS in all the usual places, OR get a digital download OR limited edition vinyl on our bandcamp.
Shirt Alert
I drew a new shirt for the Gender Reveal store! Proceeds benefitting mutual aid initiatives for families in Gaza through Operation Olive Branch. These come in sizes for kids and babies, too, if you’d like to buy the objectively funniest gift for them.
Nostalgia Corner
This month’s corner corner is a simple recommendation for catching some live music!!!! As of late, I’ve been feeling a little out of sorts with “going to shows,” a thing I have been doing consistently for the past 20+ years, since I was a teenage punk. It’s not that I’ve lost my faith, per se, but certainly I have been feeling, let’s say, “tired.” Anywho, two bands blasted the feeling right out of my brain the other week, when I saw Ted Leo and the Pharmacists with Ekko Astral. Ted was on tour doing the entirety of “Shake The Sheets” for its 20th anniversary (lol. lmao) and did the best set I’ve seen by anyone in years. Healing! Restorative! I also want to shout out Ekko Astral here, who are making some really good music that has some real purpose and moral clarity driving it, and they put on a great show.
Comics this month
Over on my Patreon (where you can see these puppies as they come out, earlier than anyone else! For the low low low low low price of $2/month):
